The Firm

A London refurbishment and restoration firm.

Cubitt Wren delivers refurbishment, heritage restoration, and structural works across London. We are not a design-only studio. We run the works — through direct trades, named project leadership, and disciplined procurement, sequencing, and reporting.

The firm carries the names of two London builders we intend to honour, not impersonate. The story sits on the Firm page, where it belongs.

Read the Story
  • Trades

    employed directly, never sub-contracted.

  • Leadership

one Project Director, named on day one.

  • Reporting

weekly, written, with photographs against programme.

  • Defects period

    twelve months, as standard.

The materials

Specified with care. Finished by hand.

A short palette, chosen for the building, the specification, and the life of the work. Lime where the wall is breathing. Quartersawn oak where it has to last. Limestone set in lime, never in cement. The decisions are old; the discipline is the point.

Quartersawn Oak

Hand-planed. Open-grain. The line of every door.

Hand-trowelled lime plaster cured to a dusty matte finish

Lime Plaster

Three coats, hand-laid. The breath of a listed wall.

Honed Limestone

Quarried in Wiltshire. Set in lime, never in cement.

The Process

Five stages. One continuous line of accountability.

A Cubitt Wren project moves through five defined stages — each with clear deliverables, named ownership, and no ambiguity about what happens next.

01

Initial consultation

We listen before we quote.

Brief, budget, drawings, property condition, access, and constraints reviewed before any advice is given.
02

Design and planning

Drawings become specification.

Assumptions, materials, responsibilities, permissions, and buildability clarified before the works begin.
03

Pre-construction

The plan becomes a programme.

Deposits, procurement, site protection, RAMS, sequencing, and communication channels agreed in writing.
04

Build and delivery

Execution, without drama.

Trades sequenced. Updates issued weekly. Variations priced and approved before any additional work begins.
05

Completion and aftercare

We do not disappear at handover.

Joint snagging, client walkthrough, full documentation pack, and a twelve-month defects period.
Begin

Your project begins with one conversation.

Share the property, the drawings, or the brief. A Project Director will respond personally within one working day — with our view, in writing, before any commitment.
